About Stacey
The Hula House is owned and operated by Stacey Dresser, who has lived in North County San Diego for over 20 years and is well-integrated into the area’s recovery community. With over 30 years of continuous sobriety, she is passionate about helping women build stable and fulfilling lives in recovery.
Opening a home like The Hula House has been a dream of Stacey’s for many years, and she treats this opportunity with the care and attention it deserves. Her hope is to create a welcoming environment where women can support one another, build accountability, and achieve the full vision of sobriety while celebrating the small successes that happen every day.
Stacey earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of South Dakota with a minor in Chemical Dependency. Her education, combined with decades of personal recovery experience, has shaped her commitment to creating a safe and structured environment where women can focus on rebuilding their lives.
In addition to operating The Hula House, Stacey works as an outside sales representative for a maintenance chemical company. She brings strong organizational and leadership skills to managing the home while remaining personally involved in supporting residents.
She has been married to her husband for over 25 years, and together they have two daughters. Stacey attributes much of her own success to her 12-step fellowship and faith, which continue to guide her commitment to helping other women find lasting recovery.
After countless rehabs and other medical measures to quit my drinking I had truly become hopeless.
The hula house gave me a safe, comfortable, accepting and loving environment.
By the recommendation of my therapist I reached out to the Hula House. It would be my first experience at a sober living. I couldn’t be more grateful.
I relearned to do daily activities sober, I began to get comfortable in my skin and around others. Mostly I entered the rooms of AA without being alone. I was introduced to other like-minded people, their philosophies, and what I needed to do in order to continue a sober and happy life.
Today I reflect back, and have so much gratitude and a future worth living for.

The Hula House changed my life! Their supportive, compassionate community helped me learn how to stay sober and turn my life around by giving me the tools, encouragement, and
accountability I needed to grow. Through them, I found healing, strength, and lifelong
friendships. I am endlessly grateful for the love and support I received and highly recommend.
The Hula House to anyone seeking real change and community!

I love living at Hula House! The owner Stacey is truly incredible. She has many years of sobriety and leads by example every single day. This isn’t just a business for her — it’s her heart.
She runs a structured, accountable, and supportive home where recovery comes first. If you live here, you are expected to be working a solid program.
The property is beautiful and welcoming, with two houses and a cozy casita. Its has a fire pit with fairy lights in the front, and a peaceful patio and pool in the back which truly feels like home.
The women here are supportive, motivated, and committed to recovery, and having meetings at the house strengthens that sense of community.
I’m so happy I chose to live here and become a part of the Hula House family!
